Ganadores de los Lighting Design Awards 2016

La ceremonia se celebró en el London Hilton Park Lane ante más de 700 invitados
Los Lighting Design Awards celebraron su 40 aniversario con una ceremonia de gala en el London Hilton Park Lane, la noche del viernes 6 de mayo de 2016 ante más de 700 diseñadores, arquitectos y proveedores de iluminación.
Durante la gala, se reconoció a Gerd Pfarré como el Lighting Designer of the Year, a quien el jurado describió como “un diseñador con un talento estelar y una creatividad sin límites”. En la categoría Lighting Practice of the Year se galardonó al despacho Arup. El estudio Hiller Scofidio + Benfro fue reconocido en la categoría The Architect of the Year; el jurado dijo “son pocas las firmas que manejan la luz de día con la sensibilidad y pasión con la que la hace este despacho”. Otros ganadores fueron la artista Christine Sciulli por el trabajo Roil en Nueva York; David Atkinson por el Pabellón de los Emiratos Árabes durante la Expo Milán 2015 y para la Society of Light & Lighting por “Night of Heritage Light”.
La convocatoria de este 2016 recibió proyectos provenientes de 17 países incluidos Polonia, Croacia, Azerbaiyán, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Alemania, Emiratos Arabes, Irán, Australia, China, España y Turquía, y a continuación enlistamos a los ganadores por categoría:
